What everyone agrees to, in plain words.

A business agrees before every job it posts; a shopper agrees every time they apply. Version 2026-10-22.

For businesses

This job post follows the laws and regulations where the visit takes place.
You will not ask a shopper to do anything unlawful — even on your own premises. For example: filming in a private area, or anywhere a notice says filming is not allowed; or harassing, insulting or provoking your staff.
You will not ask a shopper to break a venue's own rules, put themselves at risk, or deceive anyone beyond acting as an ordinary customer.
You will not try to identify the shopper or contact them outside Mysterly.
If the shopper cannot finish the job, it is cancelled and the money comes back to you as Mysterly credit, which you can spend on a new job or withdraw.
You may edit this job once after posting. The package and the price cannot be changed.
Photos and videos from the visit are kept for one month after the job is finished, then deleted. Download any you want to keep from the report before then.

What you tick: I agree that this job follows local law, and that I will not ask the shopper to do anything unlawful.

For shoppers

Follow local laws and regulations at all times while doing the job, whatever the job post says.
If the job post asks for something unlawful, do not do it — tell Mysterly instead. Any unlawful act is your own responsibility.
You work as an independent contractor, not an employee of Mysterly or of the business.
Accidents and emergencies on the way to or during the job (for example a road accident), and any health issue, are your own responsibility.
You handle your own tax on what you earn.
Do not film or record where a notice, the venue or the law forbids it, and do not photograph staff faces.
If you cannot finish the job, cancel it from the job page as early as you can.

What you tick: I will follow local law while doing this job, and I accept that any unlawful act, accident or health issue is my own responsibility.

Privacy

We do

We keep your location only to check a visit happened where it should — at check-in, check-out and when a photo is taken.
We keep photos and videos of premises, products and receipts as evidence for the business that paid for the visit — for one month after the job is finished, then we delete them.
We keep your name, email and payout details to run your account and pay you.
You can ask us to delete your account and your personal data.

We don't

We do not track your location outside a visit.
We do not show a business who their shopper is, and we do not sell your data.
We do not keep face scans. If identity checks come back, a face scan is deleted as soon as the check is done.
Photos of people's faces are not evidence and are not wanted.
